The Brief
Idea:
GTI decided to bridge the gap and transport viewers to the picturesque archipelago of New Caledonia through a new virtual reality travel experience for New Caledonia Tourism. Created in partnership with VR specialist, Start VR, the content was designed to entice viewers to travel to the colourful island paradise, the 360 video and soundscape experience covers diverse areas in New Caledonia including the Grande Terre and Loyalty and as well as the Isle of Pines. The app includes fascinating local stories, tours of private beaches and a glimpse into the cosmopolitan New Caledonia life style, all in an immersive and interactive environment. Participants are transported to one of their closest neighbours through a series of 360 degree videos, where they can sip champagne in the Paris of the South; snorkel off the fine white sand beaches of the Isle of Pines and watch the cowboys, from the real Caledonian Brousse, muster cattle in Bourail.
There are 15 unique and authentic Caledonian experiences that will capture consumers’ imagination and leave them wanting to travel to New Caledonia more than ever before.
The 360 videos are also being used on 360 friendly platforms such as Facebook and Youtube and part of a larger campaign that is currently running in Australia and New Zealand.
