The Brief and our Approach
The brief was to drive year-round bookings at The Hakuba Company properties in Hakuba – a leading skiing destination in Japan. Our main challenge was to change the common perception that Hakuba is merely a ski town and visitation was low in the spring, summer and autumn.
Our approach was simple and grounded in cost effective content production:
- GTI developed a 90 second social video showcasing the variety of experiences available in Hakuba during the warmer months
- Created a web page with the Hakuba Company featuring deals for Aussies at one of The Hakuba Company’s properties
- We then retargeted consumers who watched or engaged with the social video with social ads directing them to The Hakuba Company’s landing page to book their next trip.
The Results
- 97,851 Australians viewed the social video about summer in the region
- 12,427 viewers were retargeted with an advert about deals by The Hakuba Company
- 1,133 leads were sent through to The Hakuba Company website
